How to Install HBO Max on Fire TV Stick

It doesn’t matter if you subscribe to the HBO service or have already added the app to your Fire Stick. If you don’t already have HBO Max, you can sign up for it or start a free trial directly from the app once it’s installed.

  • Open the Fire Stick app on your television.
  • Navigate to and select the Search icon in the upper left corner.
  • Use the remote to search for HBO Max. If you have the Alexa voice remote, you can press and hold the speaker icon button on the remote to voice search instead of navigating the keyboard.
  • Select HBO Max from the search results, and then select the HBO Max app from the list of aps returned.
  • On the HBO Max page, use the remote to select the Get option. If the app is already installed on your Fire Stick, it will say Open instead.
  • Select Open to launch the app.

How to Sign Up for HBO Max

If you already have HBO through your cable provider, you can use your HBO credentials to sign in and get started watching, but if you’re a new customer, you have a couple of options. You can either use these instructions to sign up for HBO Max on the HBOMax.com website, or you can sign in through the Fire Stick app you just installed.

  • After you’ve installed HBO Max on your Fire Stick, click Start Free Trial or Subscribe Now.
  • Enter the requested information (name, email address, and password) and then click Create Account.
  • Enter payment details and choose your subscription level. HBO Max offers either a monthly or bi-annual subscription. When you’re done, click Subscribe or Start My Free Trial.

You can now stream all HBO has to offer.

After you’ve installed HBO Max on your Fire Stick, click Start Free Trial or Subscribe Now.

Enter the requested information (name, email address, and password) and then click Create Account.

Enter payment details and choose your subscription level. HBO Max offers either a monthly or bi-annual subscription. When you’re done, click Subscribe or Start My Free Trial.

Sign out of the HBO Max app, then go to Settings > My Fire TV > Restart. Once restarting has finished, reopen the HBO Max app and sign back in.

In the HBO Max app, select Settings icon > Sign Out.
