Best Weapons in Zelda: BOTW
The best weapon to use in BOTW depends on your situation, but here’s a well rounded arsenal:
Savage Lynel Sword
The most powerful single-handed sword can be obtained from silver or white-maned Lynels that inhabit Akkala Wilds, Lanayru Road East Gate, Gerudo Summit, and North Tabantha Snowfield. It provides a powerful melee attack without weighing you down too much.
Royal Claymore
This heavy two-handed sword is hidden in treasure boxes around Hyrule, specifically in Hyrule Castle, Gerudo Desert, and the Hebra Mountains.
Savage Lynel Crusher
This club deals devastating blows, but it’s one of the heavier weapons to wield. It can also be stolen from the silver or white-maned Lynels.
Ancient Battle Axe++
If you want one of the strongest axes in the game, you’ll need to take out the most powerful Guardian Scout. It has low durability, so save it for enemies with a lot of HP.
Flamespear
More powerful than the Frostspear or Thunderspear, the Flamespear has the added bonus of setting opponents ablaze. It’s also helpful for starting fires and melting blocks of ice.
Meteor Rod
Meteor Rods are great for clearing out large hordes of enemies. Get them by defeating Wizzrobes, or find one south of Great Fairy Fountain in Tabantha.
Lizal Tri-Boomerang
The Lizal Tri-Boomerang can be used as a long-ranged weapon or for melee attacks. Pick them off of fallen Black and Silver Lizalfos in the Hebra Mountains and Akkala Highlands.
Savage Lynel Bow
By far the best bow in the game, the Savage Lynel Bow shoots three arrows at once for the cost of one. It can be found in the same places as the other Savage Lynel weapons.
The Master Sword
The most iconic weapon in the Zelda series returns as one of the most powerful swords in the game. To obtain the Master Sword, you must first get through the Lost Woods.
Spring-Loaded Hammer
The Spring-Loaded Hammer isn’t particularly powerful, but it will send most objects and enemies flying off into the distance. It’s more of a novelty than anything else, but it can come in handy when you’re surrounded.
