Enable display ICC color management on Windows 11

To turn on HDR support color managed apps on Windows 11, use these steps:

  • Close the app.
  • Right-click the app icon.
  • Select the Properties option.
  • Click the Compatibility tab.
  • Under the “Settings” section, check the Use legacy display ICC color management option.
  • Click the Apply button.
  • Click the OK button.

Once you complete the steps, the app will display more accurate colors and access the full gamut from the HDR display. However, the feature will only take effect when HDR mode is enabled.

Close the app.

Select the Properties option.

To restrict HDR support for apps, use these steps.

  • Close the app.

  • Click the Apply button.
  • Click the OK button.

After you complete the steps, apps that use the International Color Consortium display color profiles will once again be limited to the sRGB color gamut.
